To submit a paper application, click on the 2022-23 Confidential Family Application for Free and Reduced Priced Meals below. This letter can be used to receive other benefits, like low-cost internet. To request a letter stating a student in the household attends a CEP school and receives meals at no cost, please contact the PPS Meal Benefits Office. A meal application is not needed and cannot be processed, so it is deleted from the system. If all students in a household attend a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school, the application status will show 'Deleted'.To receive a copy of the letter, contact the PPS Meal Benefits Office. A 2022-23 Direct Certification letter is sent via mail to the adult who qualified for the benefit (for example, the SNAP recipient). If a household is Directly Certified, the application status will show 'Deleted'.An OR EIG approval letter will be mailed within 10 business days. This is because the system can only show the Federal approval/denial status. If a household meets the Oregon Expanded Income Guidelines (OR EIG), the application status will show 'Denied' via SchoolCafe.NOTE: You can check the status of the application and even print out the approval/denial letter. Complete each question and click Submit my application button. Click on the Apply for Benefits button to bring up the application.Ĥ. Meals will no longer be free to all PPS students in the 2022-23 school year. The nationwide waiver to provide all K-12 students free meals regardless of income expired June 30, 2022. We appreciate your understanding and assistance. Please know that we are working hard to limit these disruptions. We are sorry-this is far from the vision of meals that we have your student. We encourage you to talk to your child about the potential for these variations. In the event we must make the difficult decision to close a school kitchen due to lack of staff, a cold breakfast and lunch will be provided to every student. We anticipate these shortages will inevitably impact services in ways we have never experienced before. Like school buildings and departments district-wide, CWS is also experiencing record staff shortages.

Please also consider sending your child to school with a full water bottle every day. When milk shortage occurs, CWS will offer a replacement beverage whenever possible. We will make every effort to communicate with school communities and school nurses about these changes. When menu changes become necessary, CWS will try to use replacement items that are as close to the posted menu as possible. Please know that nurturing ALL children through quality food and active living will continue to be our central mission. Like school districts across the nation, we are facing unprecedented disruption in the food supply chain that will likely cause menu changes with little notice.
